Amy Stewart (born 1969) is an American author specializing in books on horticulture and the natural world.[1]

Biography

Stewart grew up in Arlington, Texas with her father, the musician Vic Stewart, who toured with Doc Severinsen’s road band; her mother, Dee Stewart, who had a career in public relations;[1] and her younger brother, Jason Stewart, who is now a film and television editor.[2] She graduated from Arlington High School and received a B.A. degree in anthropology and a master's in community and regional planning (MSCRP) from the University of Texas at Austin. She currently lives in Eureka, California, where she is a regular columnist for the North Coast Journal. Stewart is a founder of the horticultural blog, Garden Rant.

In 2009, she appeared on the premiere episode of season two of The Cake Boss reality TV show. She has also been featured on CBS Sunday Morning.[3] Her poison plant garden is included in Popular Mechanics's list of the 18 strangest gardens in the world.[4]
